I use the TS808 this way. If my song choice is softer I'll play clean and hit the tube screamer for my solo. Sounds great. Remember - the tube screamer still sounds like your guitar through the pedal. All other pedals sound like the pedal. Also, I stack the TS into a Boss blues driver. Sounds great. Although the BD sounds good on its own.
